We’re excited to welcome Dr. Jenette to the Bloom + Brighten Kids Dentistry family at our North Portland location. With a genuine love for pediatric dentistry and years of experience caring for children, Dr. Jenette brings both expertise and heart to every appointment. We asked her a few questions to help our families get to know her a little better. Here’s what she shared.
Education and Training
Dr. Jenette attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry. One of her favorite parts of dental school was learning tooth anatomy through hands-on “wax-ups,” where she built full teeth using wax, a flame, and specialized instruments. She found the process both challenging and satisfying. Equally meaningful was the strong sense of camaraderie among her classmates, who supported one another through the challenges and successes of dental school.
What Inspired Her to Become a Pediatric Dentist
After practicing as a General Dentist for five years, Dr. Jenette spent time working in a pediatric dental office in Philadelphia. That experience helped her realize how much she loved working with children. Guided by wonderful mentors and patients, she decided to pursue pediatric dental residency and found the career path she knew she was meant for.
Experience and Passion for Dentistry
Dr. Jenette has been practicing dentistry for over 18 years. She stays passionate by committing herself to lifelong learning, staying current with new materials and techniques, and continuously finding ways to improve the patient experience for children and families.
Why She Loves Working With Kids
One of Dr. Jenette’s favorite parts of her job is watching children grow over time. Seeing patients every six months allows her to witness shy children become more confident, nervous children find courage, and playful personalities shine. Being part of those milestones and supporting children as they grow makes pediatric dentistry incredibly rewarding for her.
The Best Part of Her Day
Dr. Jenette values the strong teamwork within each Bloom + Brighten office. She believes a dentist is only as strong as their support staff and appreciates the dedication, skill, and care her team brings every day. The trust and collaboration among team members help create a welcoming environment for families and allow the office to deliver exceptional care.
